During a series of high-profile meetings in Seoul, Saudi Arabia and South Korea have reiterated their dedication to bolstering cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and technology investments. The Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Al-Swaha, alongside Haytham Al-Ohali, Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, engaged with senior South Korean officials to delve into partnerships in AI, semiconductors, and digital infrastructure. The discussions aimed at fostering innovation, enhancing the digital economy, and propelling Saudi Arabia’s vision of becoming a leading global hub for artificial intelligence.
The Saudi delegation also explored the enhancement of digital government services, focusing on collaboration in unified government platforms, digital identity systems, and leveraging AI to optimize public services. Both nations considered strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority and South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior to advance these initiatives.
In a bid to further their technological ambitions, Al-Swaha conferred with the founder and CEO of APL Ventures to discuss potential investment opportunities. Their talks centered on supporting Saudi startups, expanding their reach in international markets, and encouraging technology investment within the Kingdom, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s strategy to attract high-value investments and cultivate an AI-driven digital economy.
