Saudi Arabia and France are deepening their collaboration in the library sector, focusing on digital preservation, knowledge exchange, and professional training. This development follows a meeting in Riyadh between Libraries Commission CEO Abdulrahman Al-Asem and French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Patrick Maisonnave.
The discussions centered around an executive program involving the Saudi Libraries Commission and the National Library of France. Key aspects of the program include the digitization of library materials, the exchange of electronic copies, the development of digital collections, and the provision of training for library professionals.
The meeting also explored future joint projects scheduled for 2026, aiming to broaden cultural and knowledge-based cooperation between the two nations. This initiative highlights both countries’ commitment to enhancing library services and fostering international partnerships in the cultural sector.
