Artificial intelligence took center stage on the second day of LEAP 2026 in Saudi Arabia, as exhibitors showcased its expanding role beyond research environments into practical applications. At both LEAP and DeepFest, attendees were introduced to AI-driven innovations ranging from humanoid robots and AI-enabled prosthetics to computing systems engineered for large-scale AI tasks. These demonstrations underscored a growing trend of deploying AI solutions to tackle real-world challenges across various industries.
Supermicro highlighted its advanced computing infrastructure, designed to assist organizations in managing complex AI workloads. Mohammad Zahri, the Regional Director at Supermicro, emphasized that their focus is on creating computing environments that support the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals. Meanwhile, robotics took a prominent position at the event, with Unitree presenting intelligent robotics, and AGIBOT showcasing humanoid systems that integrate perception, decision-making, and physical actions. Abel Deng, AGIBOT’s President for the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, described embodied AI as a significant evolution in human-technology interaction, transitioning AI from digital interfaces to physical spaces.
PSYONIC introduced its Bionic Hand, a prosthetic that responds to user movements by harnessing sensor and movement data, illustrating AI and robotics’ potential to enhance human-machine interaction and assist individuals with physical tasks. Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation was also in the spotlight through Tawakkalna, an all-encompassing digital government application supported by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). During LEAP 2026, 62 government entities were acknowledged for integrating their services into Tawakkalna, achieving the platform’s integration target for 2026. Currently, Tawakkalna serves over 36 million users, offering access to more than 1,700 government services and handling over 85 million transactions daily.
The latest integration phase added 926 services from participating government entities to a unified platform, broadening the spectrum of public services accessible to citizens, residents, and visitors. Annabelle Mander, Executive Vice President at Tahaluf, remarked that the event signifies a shift from theoretical discussions about AI’s potential to tangible demonstrations of its deployment in sectors like healthcare, robotics, space, and digital infrastructure. The discussions and showcases at LEAP 2026 highlighted Saudi Arabia’s strategic use of emerging technologies to bolster domestic capabilities, foster innovation, and create economic opportunities.
